University Center to host free genealogy assistance

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is offering free genealogy assistance, "Searching for Your Ancestors," from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 18 at the University Center, 2205 Career Ave. North. Mormon church, rabbis tackle proxy baptism

SALT LAKE CITY - The Mormon church says it has changed its genealogical database to better prevent the names of Jews killed in Nazi concentration camps from being submitted for posthumous baptism by proxy.

Mt. Pleasant planning 9/11 services

Mt. Pleasant Borough along with the Mt. Pleasant Ministerium will host observances. Starting at 9:30 a.m., the Ministerium will hold a remembrance and prayer service at the United Methodist Church (Town Clock Church).
